Are you ready to be part of the most glamorous and thrilling night of the New Zealand Youth Film Festival (NZYFF) Presented by The New Zealand Herald? The red carpet Award Ceremony live-streamed on nzherald.co.nz is where the magic of filmmaking comes to life, and we’re inviting passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Volunteers for this prestigious night. Volunteer solo or apply with your mates! We’re looking for anyone who is interested in events, film, and empowering youth to join in our efforts to create a memorable experience which could potentially help motivate youth to pursue their dreams!
Successful applicants will be invited to volunteer at our Award Ceremony event which officially kicks off at 8pm and concludes at 10.30pm on Friday, 6 December, 2024.
Volunteers will be required to arrive at 6PM on the day, with details sent to each successful applicant. Volunteers will be asked to help greet guests, assist with ticketing, provide general assistance and directions to attendees, coordinate with Festival team members, and get familiar with the event layout and plans. A group of volunteers will be tasked with providing dedicated assistance and care for Judges and VIPs.
Volunteers will be able to be part of an exclusive event where you can experience the glamour and excitement of a red carpet Award Ceremony up close! You’ll get to connect with industry professionals and help aspiring young filmmakers at the same time. Develop your communication, event coordination, and customer service skills - especially if you have an interest or work in hospitality. Plus, you’ll get a free T-Shirt and certificate!

You are someone with excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills. You have an enthusiastic, bubbly, and positive attitude. You are also organised and able to multitask, including in demanding situations. You are reliable and punctual, and also love to have a good time! If you’re passionate about or interested in the film industry, that’s a bonus!

Helping Attendees - Be a friendly and welcoming point of contact for Award Ceremony attendees. Answer questions, provide information, direct queries you don’t know the answers for to the right team members, and generally provide a helping hand to enhance the event experience.
Handing Out Event Brochures - Providing each attendee with our event brochures.
Greeting Guests and Checking Tickets - Welcome guests and check tickets as they arrive.
Safety and Comfort - Ensure that all attendees are aware of any safety guidelines, rules, or procedures and that they are comfortable throughout the day.

You'll play a part in preserving the memories that attendees will cherish.
